The new headquarters for the insurance department of the banking giant HSBC. There were many potential problems, not least of which was the poor condition of the walls. Much time was put aside for preparation, ensuring that when the fibre backed lining paper was put up the finish to the walls was perfect. In the main meeting rooms and the client areas there were expensive Tektura wallcoverings, combined with basic emulsion finishes to the walls and ceilings. In the basement the client requested the application of zolotone multicolored finish to the lift lobby and feature walls, both for the strength & unique finish of the Zolotone look.

The conversion of this truly historic building adjacent to London's Stock Exchange was a challenging but satisfying project. Working in this building from the shell allowed the opportunity to apply intumescent coatings to all the steel floor areas. The following stage of the contract required the spraying of the ornamental lift cage to match the new wall finishes. Common areas were stripped back to the original oak joinery and re-polished to a high finish to complement the surroundings. In the main office areas considerable time was spent preparing the walls to receive lining paper necessary to achieve the finish required by the client. Details in the masonry and joinery were restored back to their former glory on the external façade of the building.
